General Admission Requirements

SCIENCE & EDUCATION

Applied Chemistry (Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry)

a) UTME Candidates:

The entry requirements shall be at least credit level passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry to form the core course with credit in Physics, and any other relevant science subjects at the Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent. In addition, an acceptable pass in the University.

b) Direct Entry Candidates

Candidates with two A level passes (graded A-E) at the Advanced Level in one or more relevant subjects (Biology, Botany, Chemistry, Geography, Mathematics and Physics) may undertake the three-year degree programme into 200-level.

Biological Sciences (Biology and Microbiology)

a) UTME Candidates:

Candidates seeking admission into the 100 level of the 4 years degree programme in either B.Sc. Biology or B.Sc. Microbiology of Biological Sciences Department should meet the following:

Candidates must possess:

Mathematical Sciences (Mathematics and Computer Science & Information Technology)

a) Candidates must satisfy the general minimum University and Faculty entry requirements. That is a minimum of five O level credits including Mathematics and English Language and three other Credit Passes from the Core Sciences.

b) Special requirements for the individual programmes are as follows:

Physics (Physics and Physics with Electronics)

Science Education (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics)

Candidates seeking admission through UTME should meet the following requirements:

Candidates who have credit level passes in English Language and Mathematics with one of the following shall be eligible for admission by direct entry:

In addition to the above general requirements, candidates must meet Departmental admission requirements stipulated by the University and reflected in JAMB brochure. Candidates must at any point in time combine not more than 2 sittings to qualify for registration.

Programme Admission Requirement Registration requirements

UTME Direct Entry
B. Agriculture Five credit pass at WASCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, plus any other credit, with at least a pass in Physics. In addition candidate must have acceptable UTME Score. The credit pass in Agric science must be backed up with at least a pass in biology
  1. A. Level Passes in Chemistry and any of Biology, Physics and Agriculture.
  2. NCE/ND with minimum of lower credit, plus 5 credits in SSCE (or its equivalent) at no more than two sittings.
B. Forestry and Wildlife Management Same as above Same as above

B. Sc Food science & Technology The prospective student must possess credits in five ordinary level subjects in not more than two sittings. The subject must include Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology and English Language. Candidates are also expected to pass English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics in UTME.

2 ‘A’ Level Passes to include Biology and Chemistry at GCE ‘A’ level or its equivalent.

Holders of OND or HND at minimum of Lower Credit level are eligible for consideration for admission into 200 Level. NCE in relevant field.
