FUDMA LAUNCHES SECOND PHASE OF THE ENACTUS PROJECT
The Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi says Almajiris have equal opportunity to work and learn in different field of skill acquisitions.
Prof. H. Bichi said that providing skill acquisition would improve the social economic and spiritual well-being of the Almajiris in the society and Nigeria at large.
Prof. Bichi, spoke during the lunching of the second phase of Enactus Nigerian Act Foundation Leadership Challenge on Monday 22nd October, 2018 at the University Auditorium.
The Ag. VC Who was represented at the occasion by the Registrar, Alhaji Aliyu Dalha Kankia, urged Almajiris to concentrate on acquiring Islamic education so that they could be self-reliant someday.

He assured FUDMA Enactus team for Management support to succeed in achieving the desired goal.
In his welcome address, the Director Entrepreneurship development Centre, Dr. Lukman Oladejo, commended the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Armayau Hamisu Bichi, for sponsoring FUDMA Enactus team that presented a project titled “Hope for Almajiris” at Enactus Act Foundation at a Leadership Challenge Competition held in Lagos in July 2018 where FUDMA emerged as the winner.
Dr. Lukman said the “Hope for Almajiris” is a project initiated and developed by FUDMA Enactus team to contribute to community development as entrepreneurial students.
He said the focus was to train and empower Almajiris in different types of skill acquisition. The Programme in addition, aimed to acquire Islamic education so that they could be self-reliant so as to do away with begging.
In his remarks, the Islamic cleric, Malam Rabi’u Isah, appreciated the effort of
FUDMA to stabilize “Hope of Almajiris” in training Almajiris in different skill acquisition programmes. Malam Rabi’u said parents sent their children to acquire Islamic education but could not provide food for them.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Kunle Odeyemi from the Department of Enactus programme Nigeria said the Management and stakeholders were expected to train Almajiris in the field of skills acquisition that includes: tailoring, shoemaking, painting and stitching.
Mr. Kunle of the Department of Enactus, Nigeria shall by the end of December attend the graduation ceremony and provide materials to the trainees, he assured. He also advised FUDMA Enactus to invite
traditional rulers and dignitaries to be present during the graduation ceremony.
In a vote of thanks, the FUDMA Enactus team leader Mr. Victor Taiyan thanked the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi for his enormous support and contribution towards the progress of FUDMA Enactus.
He further thanked the leader of Enactus department Programme, Nigeria, Mr. Raphael Anagbe and Mr. Kunle Odeyemi and prayed to God Almighty for their safe return to their homes.
